MPLS-TE Tunnel and Recursive Routing
When employing MPLS-TE, it may seem that there is a danger of running into recursive routing errors much like when using a GRE tunnel. However, MPLS-TE tunnels with a specified destination do not create recursive routing issues. When configuring a MPOLS-TE tunnel with a destination (e.g., 6.6.6.6), the tunnel path is computed using CSPF based on the Traffic Engineering Database (TED), which includes IGP topology information along with additional TE attributes and constraints.
Once the tunnel is established and autoroute is enabled, traffic to the destination can be routed through the tunnel.
