NETCONF

Network Configuration Protocol (NETCONF) is a network management/configuration protocol.

  • NETCONF uses remote procedure calls (RCPs) which are encoded within XML
  • NETCONF does not have its own transport mechanisms, and uses SSH
  • Optionally, YANG can be used to model RPCs to simplify the process
