OSPF default metric values
The metric determined for a particular link used by OSPF depends upon the speed of that particular link. The default cost values for the metric of specific speeds can be found in the following table:

| 384 Kbps | 266 |
| 128 Kbps | 781 |
This default OSPF cost table can be adjusted by changing the reference bandwidth.
The metric to a particular destination is the sum of outgoing interface costs.
