OSPF sham-link

OSPF


An [OSPF](/ospf) [sham-link](/ospf-sham-link) will have a default cost of 1 ensuring that it is chosen as the best path over alternative possible paths.  The cost of the sham link can be modified using a command similar to the following:

```
PE1(config-router)#area 0 sham-link 22.22.22.22 44.44.44.44 cost 10
```

The cost configured affects only outbound traffic, thus it should be configured the same on both ends of the sham link.
