Type Length Value (TLV)


[OSPF](/ospf) Type 10 [LSAs](/ospf-lsa-types), also known as **Opaque LSAs**, are used to carry additional information within an OSPF domain. They enable protocol extensions without modifying the OSPF base protocol and are mainly used for applications like [Traffic Engineering (TE)](/network-design-traffic-engineering), [MPLS](/mpls), and graceful restart.
