lwapp
LWAPP (Lightweight Access Point Protocol) is a network protocol designed to simplify the deployment and management of wireless networks by centralizing configuration and control of multiple access points through a centralized wireless LAN controller.
This architecture enables efficient management of wireless connectivity, seamless roaming, and streamlined security policy enforcement across large and complex network environments. LWAPP reduces the configuration complexity at the individual access point level, supporting scalability and making it well-suited for enterprise-grade wireless deployments. It enhances network reliability and performance by allowing IT administrators to oversee the entire wireless network from a single point.
LWAPP has largely been replaced by CAPWAP (Control and Provisioning of Wireless Access Points Protocol).
