Infrastructure ACLs Etymology
Infrastructure Access Control Lists (ACLs) are distinct from traditional ACLs as they are specifically designed to protect network infrastructure devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and servers. These ACLs filter and restrict traffic that is destined for infrastructure devices, rather than filtering transient traffic or traffic between hosts. This is the etymology of the name as well.
Infrastructure ACLs do not differ in their command syntax from normal ACLs, but are identified as such based on their usage.
