OSPF over VXLAN L2 VNI Considerations

It is possible to run a routing protocol such as OSPF on the overlay network of a VXLAN topology. When running OSPF over a VXLAN Layer 2 VNI, it's important to note that OSPF hello packets are sent as multicast traffic, even when using point-to-point network type. If the same L2 VNI is configured across multiple leaf switches, all switches will receive these OSPF hello packets, which could lead to unintended neighbor relationships. This behavior needs to be considered when designing OSPF over VXLAN networks.
