Nexus
Cisco Nexus devices are a series of modular and fixed port network switches that are designed specifically for the datacenter. Some basic characteristics of this line of switches as compared to more conventional IOS devices include:
- Run the modular NX-OS firmware/operating system
- Include high availability features beyond those delivered by IOS devices
- Optimized for high-density 10 Gigabit Ethernet
